Another shipment complete

I got word from the hospital in Mosul that the latest shipment of chemotherapy drugs reached them today. The drugs reached Mosul airport OK late last week, with the icepacks still cold, and were held there in a refrigerator until they could be picked up this week.

This shipment included 50 2mg vials of vincristine and 17 100mg vials of doxorubicin shipped from Minnesota and 50 200mg vials of cyclophosphamide shipped from Germany. Roughly 100 email messages were involved in arranging and coordinating the shipment, and people around the world watched out for it, passed it from hand to hand, carried it a little faster and protected it a little better than other packages, knowing it might save some lives in a place that's seen too much violence and chaos in recent years.

The message from the hospital says "This shipment of chemotherapy drugs will be of tremendous help to our cancer patients at this time of great shortages."

Hi Dave. I'm glad that at least somebody has read this blog. I need to put more effort into spreading word of it's existence and try to find folks who'd be willing to chip in and help.

Just so ya'know, I still check in with you here at times Waldschrat. I have quit the commenting at TT's but have read you comments there as well. I never received any response of interest from my efforts to direct people to your cause, but wish you luck as you continue to do this noble thing.

Strykerdad no longer-- Daughter has transferred to another field hospital unit in an emergency evacuation ambulance company--non-Stryker--so she can deploy back to Iraq (Tikrit) in July/August.

Good luck!
